Let's be honest. It's tough to stay motivated sometimes. Not just with your nutrition and health, but with schooling, work, etc. Right now, I'm struggling with staying motivated in school... fall break starts next week and I'm already yearning for the week long break. But of course I can't let my brain turn to mush just yet, so how do I stay motivated?
1: Make a short term goal.
Long term goals are scary. They can seem so far in the distance that we give up. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN! Make a long term goal, BUT make smaller, short term goals that are more easily accomplished. That feeling of accomplishment will keep you going until you get to that long term goal.
2: Don't let set backs bring you down.
We are all human. We make mistakes, get lazy, forget, and want to give up, but DON'T CAVE. Fall down 7 times, get back up 8. It doesn't matter how many times you fall, all that matters is that you don't give up, get back up, and keep moving forward.
3: Reward yourself.
When you accomplish one of your smaller goals, reward yourself! You earned it! Whether that reward is a day at the spa, a new shirt, food, anything, just reward yourself!
4: Don't compare your progress to others progress.
First of all, you are different than every other person in the world, which means your goals are going to be different. Second, you don't know how long they've been working on their goal, and how far they've come. ONLY COMPARE YOURSELF TO THE PERSON YOU WERE YESTERDAY.
They are other ways to stay motivated, but these are my top 4, and they can be applied to any situation you're facing. Don't get down on yourself, and always keep progressing :)
